A Dream Realized: My Visit to Zac Blair’s Tree Farm
I’ve always wanted to visit Zac Blair’s playground in Batesburg-Leesville, SC, and I finally got the chance to experience it firsthand while shooting for The Golfer’s Journal. From the moment I arrived, everything about the place exceeded my expectations—not that I expected anything less after watching Zac turn his dream into reality over the years.
What stood out the most were the little details. Every aspect, from the range balls to the snacks, from the accommodations to the food—even down to the canned Gatorade—was meticulously thought out. The attention to detail was remarkable, creating an atmosphere that felt both intentional and special.
Oh yeah… there was a golf course, too! And it was just as impressive. The layout offered a fantastic mix of playability and challenge—every hole had birdie potential, but if you found yourself on the wrong side of the green, bogey was just as likely. Courses like this are a blast to play. Plus, the first hole being a par 3 and the final hole a drivable par 4? I’ve been playing golf for years and have never seen a start or finish quite like that.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I can only hope to return one day. Until then, I’ll leave you with these images, which I hope capture even a fraction of what makes The Tree Farm so special.
Now we just need to get our custom ball markers in there! If you like these photos, follow along my photography page on Instagram!
