FAQs ABOUT OUR BALL MARKERS
-
A. We take great pride in creating each custom piece with meticulous attention to detail. Every ball marker and divot tool is hand-stamped, hand-painted, and carefully treated to ensure high-quality craftsmanship. This personalized process is what sets our products apart but also requires time to complete.
Once your order is received, it typically takes 7-9 business days for us to finish these steps and prepare your items for shipping. Rest assured, we aim to deliver both craftsmanship and efficiency, ensuring your custom order arrives in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.

A. You can personalize your golf ball marker with almost anything! Since we use metal stamps to create the designs, you’re limited only by the stamps we have available in stock. Fortunately, we offer a wide variety of design stamps for you to choose from, and you can add any wording, numbers, or simple details you like.
If you’re looking for something more specific, such as a logo or custom artwork, be sure to check out our custom order options in the next section for more detailed customization possibilities.

A. To get your custom logo hand stamped on our products, we require a minimum order of 25 markers. Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll take your logo and send it to our manufacturer to create a custom metal stamp. This process allows us to produce your unique markers with your logo hand stamped to perfection.
Once the stamp is ready, we can start creating your custom products to meet your specifications. If you have anymore questions about that click HERE

A. When it comes to the patina of your custom golf ball marker, it’s all about the natural materials—specifically copper and brass. These metals are highly reactive, meaning they undergo changes in appearance over time as they acclimate to different environments. This is part of what makes each marker truly unique!
You may notice subtle shifts in coloration, which is simply the metal developing its own personality through the patina process. We think it’s a really cool feature that adds character to each piece, but we just wanted to make sure you’re aware of this natural and expected transformation. Thanks for understanding!

A. When placing a custom ball marker order, it’s important to count your characters correctly to ensure accurate pricing. Each letter or design stamp equals one character. For example, if you include a phrase like “KEEP POUNDING” along with a design stamp (such as a paw print), that would count as 13 characters total.
We trust customers to calculate their characters and place their orders accordingly. If your order exceeds the number of characters you’ve paid for, Johnston Gray may request additional payment. Please note that orders with more than 30 characters may incur additional charges.

A. Golf ball markers are used to mark the exact position of a player’s ball on the green, allowing them to pick up the ball for cleaning or to avoid obstructing another player’s putt, while maintaining its location for later play.
Beyond their practical purpose, ball markers are also a fun way to showcase your personality and make your mark on the game. Whether through custom designs, meaningful symbols, or unique phrases, a personalized marker can add a bit of flair to your round and make the experience uniquely yours.
-
A. To mark your golf ball, simply place your ball marker directly behind the ball on the green before picking it up. This ensures you’re marking its exact location. When you’re ready to resume play, replace the ball in the same spot, then remove the marker.
It’s a simple yet important step to keep the game moving fairly, while also giving you a chance to show off your custom ball marker!
-
A. Absolutely! While golf ball markers are designed for use on the course, their durable materials and personalized designs make them versatile for various other uses. Many of our customers repurpose their custom markers as keepsakes, keychains, or even small tokens to give as gifts.
The sturdy construction ensures they can withstand everyday use, while the custom designs give them sentimental value, making them perfect for carrying around as a reminder of the game—or a special moment connected to it—off the course. Whether as a conversation starter or a personal memento, your ball marker can serve multiple purposes beyond just golf.

A. Personalizing a golf gift, such as a custom ball marker, is a great way to make the gift stand out and show how much thought you’ve put into it. Adding their initials is a classic choice, but you can take it a step further by incorporating something even more meaningful—like a significant date (such as a birthday, anniversary, or memorable tournament win) or a symbol that reflects their personality or passion.
You might consider a favorite hobby, team logo, or even an inside joke that only the two of you share. Personal touches like these make the gift truly one-of-a-kind and something they’ll cherish every time they hit the course.

A. Metal ball markers offer several advantages over plastic ones, making them a preferred choice for many golfers. Beyond their durability—metal markers are built to last much longer than plastic—they also bring a more premium, personalized touch to your game.
If made from materials like copper or brass, these markers develop a patina over time, giving them a distinctive, evolving appearance that reflects your personal style and the miles they’ve traveled with you on the course. Metal markers can be custom-stamped with meaningful designs or words, making them not just functional tools but also keepsakes that grow more unique with age.

A. While the primary function of a ball marker is to mark your ball’s exact position on the green, there’s no rule saying it can’t be useful or meaningful in other parts of the game. Many golfers treat their custom ball markers as personal tokens or even good luck charms, carrying them in their pocket throughout the round.
The sentimental value of a personalized marker—whether it’s stamped with initials, a favorite design, or a special date—can make it a meaningful part of your overall game experience. It’s small, convenient to carry, and can serve as a constant reminder of why you love the game, adding an extra layer of personal significance beyond its functional use on the green.
